Tokaref
Tokaref je pětičlenná kapela z Českého Krumlova. Hraje alternativní rock, ve kterém se zrcadlí vlivy popu, big beatu, funky a psychedelie, které vytvářejí pozoruhodný a neotřelý zvuk. Zpěv, vokály, basa, kytara, bicí a klávesy se mísí v dynamickou, proměnlivou hudbu s mnoha rovinami. Nástroje jsou místy svébytně sólové, aby se pak zase vlily do proudu skladby a daly vyniknout členitému zvuku. Důvěrnost a hloubka vztahů mezi členy dovolí vzniknout neopakovatelné atmosféře, ve které se nebojí experimentovat.
V roce kapela vydala 2015 své první EP s názvem They are coming, v roce 2020 album Pozdě, a naposledy v dubnu roku 2022 vydala své druhé album Left in Hibernation. Na svém posledním albu začala kapela experimentovat hned několika způsoby; na desce se poprvé objevil zpěv v češtině, a to v podání více členů kapely. Mezi písněmi si hudebníci mění nástroje, což je obzvlášť působivé naživo. Kapela se za dobu své existence hodně proměnila, a i přes hádky, usmiřování a kompromisy, nebo možná právě díky nim, se posunula tam, kde je dnes, kde si může volně hrát a prozkoumávat, kam až mohou sahat hranice její tvorby.
Tokaref is a five-piece band from Český Krumlov. They play alternative rock, mirroring influences of pop, rock, funk and psychedelia, resulting in a striking and exciting sound. The vocals, bass, guitar, drums and keyboards create together dynamic, fluid music that flows into countless depths. In places, different instruments emerge as if in solo, only to rejoin the flow of the song again, underpinning the band’s rich sound. The trust and depth of relationship between the band members gives it an inimitable atmosphere where they need not fear experimention.
In 2015, the band released their first EP entitled They Are Coming, in 2020 the album Late and recently, in April 2022, their second album Left in Hibernation. In this last album, the band started experimenting in several ways at once; this is the first time the band has recorded a song sung in Czech. The musicians swap their instruments between songs, which makes an impressive show when seeing them live. The band has undergone many changes throughout the history of their existence and, despite, or maybe thanks to occasional disagreement, subsequent appeasement and compromise, they have created a space for themselves where they can freely explore where the limits of their creative process lie.
